A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document that provides verified test results for a specific batch of product. Understanding how to read a COA helps researchers assess quality and suitability for their work.
Key Sections of a COA
- Product Identification: Peptide name, batch/lot number, and date of testing.
- Purity (HPLC): Percentage of the target peptide. Higher values (e.g., 99%+) indicate greater purity.
- Mass Spectrometry: Confirms the molecular weight matches the expected peptide. The observed mass should align with the theoretical mass.
- Appearance: Physical description (e.g., white to off-white lyophilized powder).
- Additional Tests: May include endotoxin levels, residual solvent analysis, or amino acid composition.
What to Look For
- Third-party laboratory verification (not in-house only)
- Batch-specific results (not generic)
- Date of analysis
- Clear pass/fail or acceptance criteria
COAs are available for all our products and can be requested with your order or viewed on product pages.
